DIGITAL WORKS

"CULTURE JAM"

To highlight the growing domestic abuse issue among NBA players, I created a project that focuses on a Charlotte Hornets plays who has three felony domestic charges tied to his name. The NBA gave him what was essentially a slap on the wrist. This project took heavy inspiration from an NBA Cares graphic. The texts I created were meant to evoke a feeling of overconfidence and pride. A play on the term NBA Cares was meant to facilitate irony, and an intentionally obscured link encourages the viewer to drag the waters in my graphic and their heroes.

"VIDEO REMIX"

My remix was created to explore the effects of the creation of nuclear weapons, and how devastating they can be. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were obliterated, and despite Truman's justifications, tens of thousands of civilians were wiped from the earth in an instant. Godzilla's roar and eerie music were incorporated to impact the viewer and unsettle them by informing them of an incredible threat to life.

"ARTIST ZINE"

My artist zine is defined by the term “apomakrysmenophobia”—the fear that all relationships are shallow or meaningless. By utilizing abstract and crude visuals, I hope to make the viewer anxious, and even question their own relationships. There is symbolism residing in images of mannequins and shadow bodies of water.
